Jean Ann (Novacich) Farkas, 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 28, 2026 with her family by her side.
Jean was born in Youngstown, Ohio on March 13, 1952, to the late John and Ann Novacich. A 1970 graduate of Ursuline High School, she went on to attend the Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Jean met her husband Frank Farkas in 1973, and they raised their two sons in Brookfield, Ohio. She worked as an RN at St. Joseph Hospital for several years and then transitioned to the home healthcare field. Jean earned her BS in Nursing from Hiram College and went on to work surveying nursing homes for the Ohio Department of Health, until she retired in 2017. She spent her retirement traveling most of the 50 states with her husband. Jean was an avid reader and loved wintering in Florida. One of her greatest joys in life was being a grandmother. Jean loved spoiling her granddaughters with shopping trips, camping trips and lots of fun adventures. She was a faithful member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
Her caring and selfless nature were felt by everyone she encountered throughout her life. We will miss her kindness, her compassion and her stories by the campfire.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Jim Farkas and sister-in-law Rosemary Pascute. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Frank; sons Jeff (Sara) and Greg; granddaughters Quinn and Ivy Farkas; brothers Kenneth (Andrea) and Jerry (Linda) Novacich; sister-in-law Georgette Farkas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Frank Joseph Righetti, 88, passed away on August 19, 2026.
Frank was a lifelong resident of the Youngstown area and a 1956 graduate of The
Rayen School, where he was an accomplished athlete and earned All-City
honors in football for three years.
Frank proudly served his country as a member of the United States National Guard.
He began his career working alongside his father and went on to have a long and
successful career at Store Engineering Systems. Frank was a proud 60-year member
of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 396.
Retirement did little to slow Frank down. He continued giving his time to others
through AmeriCorps VISTA’s STARS senior volunteer program. His commitment
earned him recognition from the State of Ohio House of Representatives for his
outstanding volunteer service. Frank was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He
was a lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Youngstown. Above all, he
was devoted to his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them. He
was an avid car enthusiast, loved a good meal, and was known for being meticulous
about the things he cared for. His family will remember his strong personality, his
loyalty, and the pride he took in his family, his work and his community.
Frank is survived by his wife, Carol (Rimedio) Righetti; his son, Frank (Heather)
Righetti of Glenmoore, Pennsylvania; his daughter, Alicia (Jon) Thomas of Las Vegas,
Nevada; and his grandchildren, Gio Thomas, Stella Righetti and Sophia Righetti.
He is also survived by his sister, Rose McCormick; “Brother” Bob (Kathy) Rimedio;
his sister-in-law, Linda Righetti;and many beloved nieces and nephews, extended
family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his first wife, Stella
(DeGise) Righetti; his brother, Alex Righetti; his brother-in-law, Joseph McCormick;
and several beloved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and extended family members,
including Nancy and Ed Nappy, Mary and Joe Sabol, Tony and Rose DeGise,
Josephine and Victor Amendolara, and Sam and Rose Buzzacco.
Frank lived a full life defined by hard work, service, loyalty and love for his family.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends will gather from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. at Schiavone Funeral Home. A
Mass of Christian burial will directly follow at 12:00pm at St. Anthony of Padua
Church.
Thank you Joe Carson for starting our new "My Story" series that has classmates that dared to venture out of the Youngstown area and found success in their chosen or accidental fields tell their story. On Thursday 8/13/26, Denny Stizza posted his and will fill post Joe Scodari on the 27th.
I want to thank those who have agreed to take part. We are still looking for more to share their path to success.
