My life has been consumed by kids...my own and everyone elses! I taught for ten years (various grades, subjects, etc.) before having three sons in thirty-nine months! I quit "work," and my home quickly became the "cul-de-sac pre-school." So engrained was I in establishing a daily curriculum and working with kids that the transition was inevitable. From the attic to the basement, bedrooms to deck, sandbox to "THE WOODS,"each area seemed to be a station with a hub of constant activity that ensues when you live on a street that has twenty-seven boys roughly the ages of your three sons! In essence, I had a classroom again! ( Today, my sons will concede that I ran the best pre-school! Of course, neighborhood Moms were more than willing to boost my "class size!" ) I was so very fortunate to have all those years with my sons, and would not trade those for anything! However, once they were all in school, I yearned for more, and returned back to kids in a classroom! I now work with gifted and talented 5th and 6th graders, and I love my job! My sons and husband of thirty-five years still tug at my heart constantly, while volunteering, gardening, biking, free-lance decorating, power walking, and reading round out my days!
